Kathy Barbro

I was lucky enough to be raised on a farm where learning to sew was just a part of growing up. I started out making tube tops for my Barbie dolls, and then just kept on sewing. After years of making clothes for me, my family, and 4-H fairs, I eventually ended up making wearable art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the 1980's.

Years later, I acquired some computer graphic skills and decided to combine them with my sewing interests. I created my own craft patterns, starting with a quilted fish pillow design. Knowing that I wanted my animals to all have a pre-washed "rumpled" quality (much like my mother's old quilts) "Rumpled Quilt Skins" was born. Later my husband encouraged me to expand into four-legged animals, which started the Zoo Collection, and then the Barnyard. Many more designs are on the drawing board – please check back to see any new animals posted.

And finally, my appearance on HGTV's "That's Clever" is scheduled to air on July 17th, 2006. (Please check your local listings.) I hope you can join me while I make a Quilted Stuffed Sheep from start to finish in record time. Only on television! Thanks for your support. –Kathy Barbro !
