My Snake pattern is made from lots of curved pattern pieces which end up as aligned stripes when the snake is coiled. When you pick him up, his body looks like a big spring and is lots of fun to play with. He measures about 100" from nose to tail. This model is made with hand-dyed Sky and Blue Jay Hoffman fabrics.
What fun I had making 10 snakes for Christmas. 'Twas a LOT of work and stuffing them is a real challenge but well worth it. You are a mathematics genius to design such a clever pattern. I didn't follow your picture in choosing fabric but used all kinds of wild prints. Kids and adults loved them and found many ways to enjoy them.

Just finished this snake for my grand daughter and it turned out really beautifully. Here's his picture: http://quiltknitplay.blogspot.com/2010/01/elsas-snake.html
I love these patterns. I've also done the elephant and hope to do some of the others.
